The current Mayor is Felipe Neri Yap who won in the last 2010 elections. He is the brother of former Ivisan Mayor Noel Yap (who finished all threeterms) and the son of former Mayor Amelia Yap.

Ivisan is organized into a "pueblo" in 1815.It derived its name from "Ibis"- a delicious small fish that abound in the sea. It is 15 kilometers from Roxas City through the national Highway and approximately 9 kilometers through the provincial road.All barangays are accessible by land transportation . Mode of transportation are motor tricycle, trisikad and public utility jeepneys Motorized boat in an alternative means of transportation in the coastal barangays.
